Cartons of tramadol and other drugs valued ayN105.6 million has been seized by The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) after it operatives raided a warehouse in Lagos.
This was revealed in a statement released by the Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof Moji Adeyeye in a statement made in Abuja on Friday.
She disclosed NAFDAC has been following the activities of a notorious gang involved in illegally importing controlled drugs.
Speaking further, Prof Adeyeye said the operatives were able to recover 187 cartons of assorted Tramadol which range between 120mg to 225mg doses.
She also said more than 49 cartons of Diazepam, another controlled drugs were discovered to be hidden among items like bicycles, used tires and printers.
“The seized products, valued at N105.65 million have been evacuated from the transit warehouse for necessary action and further investigation”, she said.
“We are advising the general public to be watchful and should not hesitate to report any suspicious activities within their environment to the nearest NAFDAC office” she concluded.
