A team of medical practitioners are raising alarm over the high rate of persons suffering from eye disease in the nine local government areas of Adamawa.
This was revealed after a medical outreach which aims to assist victims of farmers-herders Crisis in the state began attending to people in the southern part of Adamawa State.
Adamawa south has in recent past been ravaged by the farmers/ herders Crisis rendering thousands homeless and accessing health care has been difficult, the medical outreach targets these people to help alleviate their hardship.
Addressing newsmen during the intervention, the team leader of the medical practitioners says the number of persons diagnosed with cataract ailment is alarming and called on the attention of the Adamawa State government.
A beneficiary who spoke on behalf of her colleagues is also calling for more intervention in the state health sector.
Meanwhile, the Senator representing the district Binos Yaroe who was overwhelmed by the outcome of the outreach says the motion raised at the National assembly to convert the Modibbo Adama University into a teaching hospital is gathering momentum and it is their prayer it becomes a reality
