Makinde Approves 4 Environmental Tribunals - Natural Junkie

Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has approved the establishment of four environmental tribunals across the state that will see to the immediate dispensation of justice to environmental law offenders.

The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources in the state, Kehinde Ayoola, who disclosed this during a press conference in Ibadan stated that the tribunals which would be inaugurated by the governor soon will strengthen the enforcement of the laws and change people’s attitude towards sanitation for the better.

The commissioner reiterated the commitment of the government to begin channelization of major rivers in the state soon in order to increase floodwater runoff capacity and further reduce the possibility of flooding in the State.

The Commissioner who promised the determination of the state government to ensure enforcement of the laws and change people’s attitude towards sanitation for the better called for the support of all stakeholders while the Coordinator of Ibadan Urban Flood Management Project, Dayo Ayorinde called for continuous sensitization of members of the public.
