Korean Firm Fights Malaria With New Drug - Natural Junkie

In its quest to tackle malaria epidemic in Nigeria, a Korean firm, Shin Poong Pharmaceutical company has launched an anti-malaria drug that is regarded as one of the most effective anti-malaria drugs in the market.

Speaking with journalists at an event organized to mark the World Malaria Day (WMD), the Chief executive officer of the company; Wonjune Chang said the drug was produced with an upgraded chemical composition that has a strong effect on the disease.

He said further, he revealed the firm has partnered with a Nigerian pharmaceutical company, Dovizia Pharmaceutical Services to market the drug in Nigeria.

Also speaking at the event, the Managing Director of Dovizia Pharmaceutical Services, Oladipupo Ojo noted the drug is unique as it contains chemical compositions that attack the disease within a few hours of administration.

He said further that “It is the first time we are having a new anti-malaria drug that contains new molecules that is being exposed to the parasite. Pyramax is new in both composition and regiment usage.

“Unlike in conventional Artemisinin-based Combination Therapy (ACT) that is used twice daily, the drug is used once daily with little or no side effect on the user.”

The minister of health, Prof Isaac Ajewole who was also present at the event commended the effort of the company in its fight against malaria.

He assured the government will continue to support any course that will positively impact the Nigeria health system.
