You must have heard breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Making a habit of skipping breakfast could lead to some minor and serious complications most especially as it could lead to conditions like low blood sugar and cancer
A medical Doctor, Dr Okezie Emenike has said skipping breakfast lowers a person’s body metabolism leaving the body burn out.
While many people will agree it is unhealthy to skip breakfast, some people are left with o choice most especially because of their choice of occupation.
A health and fitness expert Dr Bisi Abiola has therefore recommended taking fruit juice to people who don’t have the opportunity of taking breakfasts due to their job or other reasons.
She gave the advice during the November edition of her monthly health discourse which was on the benefits of fruit juice.
“The consequence of our modern lifestyle has forced many people to resort to unhealthy lifestyle and feeding habits, which are now frequently linked to the development of an increasing number of diseases like osteoporosis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, respiratory infection, obesity, asthma, cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, stroke and thyroid.
“In most homes, both parents have jobs, whether working for someone else or self-employed, leaving little or no time to cook. So, the norm is a grab-on-the-go meal or going without breakfast. One of the things that come handy in this situation is fruit juice.”
Dr Abiola also recommended fruit juice as a source of energy that can be taken during prolonged meetings or fitness sessions.
