The Chief Medical Director, University College Hospital, Ibadan, Prof. Jesse Otegbayo has stressed the need for mutual understanding and continuous collaboration among all stakeholders in the health sector.
Prof. Otegbayo who made the appeal during the commissioning of nine anaesthetic machines valued at about N81 million emphasized the need for public-private partnership in order to reposition the health sector in the country.
Speaking on the facility which was being commissioned, the Chief Medical Director disclosed that the new facilities would reduce the number of patients on the waiting list as well as provide more access to improved surgical procedures.
Other staff of the hospital lauded the initiative of the management adding that it the operating environment before now has not been encouraging while they further urged the management to put more efforts in this regard.
The hospital management also vowed to work assiduously to improve the welfare of its employees as well as ensure that the hospital becomes a Mecca of sort for patients who seek affordable and accessible Medicare.
