The Federal government has sent a warning to striking health workers to get back to work or risk losing their jobs.
The warning was contained in a circular issued by the Minister of health, Prof Isaac Ajewole through the Director, Hospital services, Dr. O.J Amedu.
The Circular dated May 28, 2018, and referenced DHS/166/T2/220 was addressed to the chairmen of all governing boards of health agencies.
The minister threatened to dismiss anyone who failed to resume within 48 hours.
“Failure to return within 48 hours attracts immediate dismissal and should be so due to their absence from duty without leave in line with PSR-030413.
“In view of this, governing boards are requested to direct Chief Medical Directors and Medical Directors within 72 hours of this circular to advertise for employment of workers to fill the vacancies created,” he said.
It should be recalled JOHESU, the umbrella body for all non-doctors in medical profession began an indefinite strike since April 18.
