In an interview with Dr Bamidele Joshua, he told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the consumption of mango leaves helps in the treatment of kidney and gallstones among others. According to him, Mango leaves contain vitamins C, A and B as well as vital minerals such as Copper, Potassium and Magnesium. He explained that the leaves could be boiled to be taken as water or dried into powder form to be used in any food or drink.

The mango leaves are very useful for treating diabetes. The tender leaves of the mango tree contain tannins called anthocyanidins, which help in treating early diabetes.
